into reality, through the inspiring commitment of its employees. More
than 60% of employees participated in a Delight the Customer suggestion
program, designed to tap their wealth of ideas for improving customer
service. Hamilton Utilities Corporation employees overwhelmingly recognized
the need to provide customers with the right knowledge and behaviours
needed to conserve energy and water through current and alternative forms
of energy. Hamilton Utilities Corporation’s Corporate Social Responsibility
program and policy centres around conservation and alternative energy,
real solutions for real people.
Hamilton Utilities is committed to supporting the community in which
it does business. Since becoming a Corporation in July 2000, Hamilton Utilities has been
developing a policy governing its corporate social responsibility/community
investment program (CSR). This includes donations, gifts–in-kind,
and corporate-supported employee volunteer activities.
Based on a consultation process with our employees,
the Company adopted two related areas of focus for its CSR. Specifically,
this focus is to educate and promote conservation with our customers,
and the development of alternate sources of energy.
This focus aligns with our Mission and Vision statements
and leverages our core-business expertise.
